I am Roshan Gamage, the creator of Cyberpunk City AI. I started exploring AI art creation using ChatGPT and Adobe Firefly, and I was captivated by what these tools could create. Before long, I found myself wanting to do more than just make individual images. I wanted to build a world around them, one with its own places, characters, stories, and history.
At first, Cyberpunk City AI was simply a collection of AI-generated images showing different parts of the city and its districts. I shared the images on Instagram with captions that slowly began documenting the lore of the world. Eventually, I started using AI to help write longer stories in paragraph form, pairing each story with an image. Characters began to emerge, including Kira, and those individual stories started connecting into larger narrative arcs.
Eventually, those stories slowed down and I took a break from Cyberpunk City AI. After some time away, I came back to the project with a new idea: comics. I quickly realized that comics felt like the right medium for what I wanted to do with AI storytelling. They let me combine the visual side of AI art with the narrative side of writing, allowing me to show a scene, develop characters, and create larger narrative arcs.
And that brings us here. Cyberpunk City AI has grown from a simple experiment with AI-generated images into an evolving world filled with corporations, districts, factions, characters, and stories. I am continuing to explore what is possible when AI art and storytelling come together, building Cyberpunk City one image, one panel, and one story at a time.
